"Well that was a fun trip," James said exhaust helping his pregnant fiancee out her seat after the 22 hour road trip, "Why did we drive again?"

"Because of this," She simply looked down at her huge belly.

"Yes... don't you think it would have been better for you to stay home?" He said coyly.

"We already discussed this. You know I had to see my babies run. This Khala's first race and Kevin has to have his mom with him." She smiled.

"Alright," he signed and began unloading the two chestnut horses as Janice waddled to check out the stable. First he pulled out the dark chestnut filly that they had recently brought back from Australia. He handed the rope over to Jockey Buck Sanders, "This pretty girl sure has had quite the trip lately. Flight from Australia to the US, now a 2 day drive to North Dakota from Hot Spring."

The filly perked her ears up and let out a loud whinny, "Well, it doesn't seem to have phased her." Buck laughed.

James went for his prized colt and led him out. The colt purred at James, scratching his face on James arm, "Don't think I can say the same for Kev, at least they have 2 days to get back on their feet."

Come race day, the crowd was not as big as you would see that Santa Anita or a similar track but not a bad turn out for the 10 degree (F) weather. Janice sat in the owners box bundled up with a blanket and hot chocolate, "Are you crazy? It's freezing out here! You are going to get sick and t..." Janice cut James off.

"I'll be fine. I want to see them run, if I was going to watch in from inside on a screen I would have just stayed home."

"You probably should have..." James said under his breath.

"And there off..." the race announcer announced and Khala was off to a good stop. Janice grabbed James arm and yelled.
As the race came to an end, Janice still had a death grip on his arm, "Sweet heart, I think you can let go now."

"I think we need to go to the hospital."

"Why.... the baby? NOW?!"
